Hello. Thank you for checking in. We have two movies today that are very complimentary…
Our short is The Bowler by Sean Dunne. We talk a lot about people that are not normally represented in films — surely, there was a time where you saw them more, but not now. Rocky Salemmo is one of them. This Staten Island hustler makes most his money off of betting he’s a better bowler than most people, and, he’s usually right. Dunne makes a great profile on this eclectic character, this small town big personality guy and he’s a real crack up.

Our feature is Slasher by John Landis. This documentary takes place during a huge car sale in Tennessee, one in which the dealership calls in the big guns — Slasher and his co-hort. Slasher is another small town character guy… and a hustler. Drinking heavily and smoking heavily — sometimes ripping two cigs at once — Slasher runs around the dealership trying to sell any car he can to anyone who walks in. Landis takes a trip with a few happy buyers as they come to terms with their deal — in one instance, a woman gets a total lemon and immediately remarks that she’ll have to start asking for rides again. The movie is a whirlwind, with Slasher talking a big game but failing to deliver as people see through the vulture dealership shenanigans in a time of economic uncertainty. A great portrait into the early 00s/

That is all. Until next time……..
Slasher sounds like it'd be a great double feature with Hands on a Hardbody. Looking forward to watching it!
